For a second consecutive year, Spirit Experiences and the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum will offer a combined experience. Fashion, history, and pleasure united in a unique experience. Crossing Getaria Zumaia
A sailing experience starting at the port of Getaria in a round trip itinerary, designed to enjoy the sea and especially the Flysch of Zumaia, a unique enclave for its geological value, beauty, and history.
During this 4-hour sail, we will discover some of the maritime stories of the illustrious navigator Juan Sebastian Elcano and the relationship of the Basques with the sea. We will answer questions such as when was the powerful bond of the Basques with the seaborn; when did we lose our fear of its strength, its darkness, its smell and learn to love it; has our bond with the sea being as ancient and inevitable as we have been told?
Stories that make your hair stand on end when you listen to them in the place where they happened and feel part of that moment in your mind. All this, surrounded by a landscape that was, and still is, one of the most beautiful places in the world, generates emotions and sensations that accompany us to enjoy an authentic experience through the five senses.
Anchoring and appetizer on a sailboat
After sailing, we will return to the vicinity of Getaria to anchor and relax onboard Spirit with an aperitif, a refreshing swim, or simply continue enjoying the views that this part of the Basque Coast offers us.
We will disembark at 14:00 hours in the port of Getaria. There, you will be able to continue enjoying the local gastronomy from land, reserving a table in one of its prestigious restaurants, or enjoying some pintxos and txakoli.
Guided tour at the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum
At afternoon time, we will tackle the third and last part of the combined plan “Itsasotik” knowing the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum. A guide will reveal the history and legacy of a fashion genius, Cristóbal Balenciaga, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death, which will be commemorated this year 2022.
